What We Offer
Services designed around your situation
Each engagement begins with careful listening. We adapt our approach to the family in front of us, not to a standard procedure.
Initial Family Matter Consultation
A first sitting for clients weighing decisions related to a family matter. The session covers your situation in your own words, an outline of the applicable legal framework, and a written summary you can take away.
- Confidential, unhurried discussion
- Written summary of the session provided
- No obligation to proceed further
Marriage Agreement Drafting
A careful drafting service for couples who wish to set out their property and financial arrangements in writing. We begin with separate intake conversations, then a joint discussion, before drafting and reviewing together.
- Separate and joint consultations
- Balanced, clearly worded document
- Pre-marital or post-marital drafting
Family Dispute Mediation Representation
Representation in mediated family disputes resolved outside court. We prepare your position carefully, attend alongside you, and assist in drafting any settlement agreement that emerges from the process.
- Thorough pre-session preparation
- Honest assessment throughout

After each consultation you receive a plain-language summary of what was discussed, so nothing is lost between sessions.
Thai Law, International Context
We advise families with mixed nationalities and cross-border assets, drawing on Thai family law within its international dimensions.
Is there a family matter you'd like to talk through?
A first conversation carries no obligation. We are here to listen carefully and help you understand where things stand — before you decide what, if anything, to do next.
Common Questions
Things families often ask us
What happens during the initial consultation?
The session is structured around you. You describe your situation in your own words; we listen without interruption, ask clarifying questions where needed, and then outline the legal framework that applies. At the end you receive a written summary of everything discussed, which you can take away and consider privately before deciding whether to proceed.
Is everything I share treated as confidential?
Yes. All communications between Sukhothai Counsel and clients are covered by legal professional privilege under Thai law. Nothing you share with us is disclosed to any third party without your express consent. We take confidentiality seriously as both a legal obligation and a professional commitment.
How long does marriage agreement drafting typically take?
The process varies depending on the complexity of the financial arrangements and how quickly both parties are ready to review and comment. A straightforward agreement can be finalised in two to three weeks. More detailed arrangements involving multiple properties or assets may take four to six weeks. We will give you a realistic estimate after the initial intake conversations.
What does mediation representation involve?
We prepare your position before each session, attend mediation alongside you, and offer quiet guidance throughout. After each session we debrief with you and reassess the position. If a settlement is reached, we assist in drafting the agreement so that it is clear, balanced, and reflects what was actually agreed. We are candid about both the strengths and the limits of your position at every stage.
Can you advise on matters involving non-Thai nationals?
Yes. We regularly advise families where one or both parties hold foreign nationality, or where assets or arrangements span more than one country. We conduct our work in English and can advise on how Thai family law interacts with foreign jurisdictions, though we recommend that clients in complex cross-border situations also take local advice in the relevant foreign jurisdiction.
Are there payment arrangements available?
The initial consultation fee (฿3,800) is payable in advance. For marriage agreement drafting and mediation representation, we typically invoice in stages as the work proceeds, rather than requiring full payment at the outset. We are happy to discuss a fee structure that fits your circumstances — please raise this during your first conversation with us.
